The Valley of the Waters Track is one of my favourite destinations in the Blue Mountains. The track follows a series of waterfalls as you descend into the valley, making for some stunning photography, before levelling out for the hike to the impressively high Wentworth Falls. I had previously followed the National Pass route to Wentworth Falls, but with the closure of the track due to a landslide, I took the Wentworth Pass route for this trek.
Wentworth Pass was stunningly beautiful with rainforest, creeks and waterfalls along the route. It is a less travelled track, so care was needed in navigating in some of the more indistinct sections of the track. Wentworth Pass ends at the base of Wentworth Falls. From here it is a stiff climb using ladders (Slacks Stairs) to the National Pass, then a series of stone stairs to the top of the falls. Still feeling energetic, I took the Undercliff Track back to the Conservation Hut (another first for me), where the short diversion to enchanting Den Fenella Lookout was the highlight for me.
This was a morning trek that I thoroughly enjoyed and would readily do once again.
