Pheasants Cave
Mount Wilson, NSW

★★★☆☆
Pheasants Cave is one of those magical places - a pocket of incongruity that amazes. Much like the Garden of Eden in King's Canyon, this small patch of rainforest nestles amongst the much drier scrub of the sandstone and basalt plateau that surrounds it. It is quite a challenging track, not in terms of difficulty, but due to the fact that it can at times be difficult to find! While there are red arrow markers that have been set up by the Mount Wilson community, they are few and far between. The track is well worth the effort, particularly the descent to the cave.
I really enjoyed this day out in Mount Wilson, especially since I had the tracks all to myself. A much needed opportunity to wind down, relax and enjoy the beauty of God's creation.
