The school holidays are a great opportunity to take my son out and explore some new places. This time we were off to Rhodes to explore the foreshores of Parramatta River.

The track begins at the Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway, featuring the history of the campaign in New Guinea during World War 2, before heading past Concord Hospital through the former Yaralla Estate, one of the largest surviving 19th century estates in Sydney. It was fascinating to see large open paddocks with horses within suburban Sydney! The last part of the walk follows the shoreline of the new Breakfast Point development, before a quick ferry ride to Meadowbank finishes the circuit.

Pushing my son's pram through some of the tracks (especially through the mangroves) was not easy, but it was worth the day out exploring this interesting part of Sydney.
