This track follows the Snowy River from Guthega Village to the remote Illawong Lodge. This is a beautiful and much less visited place compared with other parts of Kosciusko National Park, and makes for a pleasant and easy walk. The track ends at the suspension bridge over the Snowy River, although well equipped and experienced hikers could continue on to Mount Twynam and Charlotte Pass (no tracks in this area).

This was my first walk of the day, and the views in the early morning light over the valley were stunning. Well worth the effort!
