Aboriginal Heritage Walk
Ku-ring-gai Chase NP, NSW
4.6 km (2 hrs )
★★☆☆☆
The Aboriginal Heritage walk combines the Resolute and Red Hands Tracks to create a loop that explores the early occupation of this location by the Garrigal clan. There are several Aboriginal sites along the way including a rock shelter, rock engravings and the Red Hands Cave with its red ochre hand-prints. The track also visits two tiny beaches on the Pittwater - West Head Beach and Resolute Beach.
I did this walk in a clockwise direction, which meant that I went down most of the stairs on this walk. The section between West Head and Resolute Beach is shaded, but the Resolute Track that ascends to the plateau is quite exposed. The Resolute Picnic area towards the end of the walk has full picnic facilities.
