Barrington Tops NP, NSW

Polblue Swamp is one of my favourite areas in the upper Barrington Tops. The high altitude wetland is a great place to camp, and the short walk around the edge of the swamp takes you through a variety of vegetation including snow gum forests, open swamp with grass and sedges and crystal clear waters of the creeks that run through the swamp. Situated at an altitude of 1,450 m expect frost or even snow at any time of the year!
I very much enjoyed my morning walk on the crisp winter's day. There are also quite a number of places to explore nearby in this World Heritage Listed National Park, but be aware that some access tracks are seasonally closed. The nearby Junction Pools and track to Careys Peak is a great place to add to your list of places to visit, providing you are in the area outside of winter and have a 4WD or are prepared for a long hike.
