I very much enjoyed the beautiful Minnehaha Falls near Katoomba. The interesting name was given by an admirer of Longfellow in 1889 - 'From the water-fall he named her, Minnehaha, Laughing Water'.

The short track to the falls follows Yosemite Creek, which plunges into a steep sided valley near Katoomba Creek. The track was well marked and easy to follow. There were a few ladders to negotiate near the falls, but definitely worth the effort as the falls are one of the nicest in the Blue Mountains.
