Seaton's Farm showcases a depression era farm and is testament to the hard work and ingenuity of Jim Seaton and his wife Bertha who lived and worked on the farm for more than 35 years. Much of the farm is still in original condition and gives an insight into the challenging life of eking out a living off the land. Jim had a philosophy of making use of any materials and the farm is dotted with salvaged machinery, iron, wire and other materials that Jim used in and around his farm. The farm was sold by Bertha in 1983 after Jim's death.

There are a number of information boards on the short walk around the farm which provide the history and detail some of the more important elements of the farm. I could barely imagine living in the main house with its dirt floors and mud and corrugated iron roof and walls. It must have been a difficult life, but according to Bertha in an interview, one that was a happy one.
