Warrego Floodplain picnic area is located at the end of the Warrego Floodplain Drive, a 14 km unsealed access road that takes you to this tranquil location in the western section of Toorale National Park. The picnic area is set amongst shady coolabah trees and had a toilet at the time of my visit. It is also the start of the Warrego Floodplain walking track - a short walk along a raised path to the viewing platform over the wetlands.

This part of the national park transforms into a green oasis after rain, and my friends and I were fortunate to see the area when it was green and still had water in some of the deeper channels.
