★★★☆☆

Visiting Carcoar is like stepping back into the 19th century. The historic village was once considered the most significant European settlement west of the Dividing Range and boasted more than 3,000 inhabitants. The former importance of the village is reflected in the substantial government, banking, religious and residential buildings. The village also has the dubious distinction of being the site of Australia's first daylight bank robbery!

It was fascinating to explore the village, so much so, that I returned for a more comphrehensive tour in Dec 2021.
