Trephina Gorge

★★★★★
The spectacular red walls of Trephina Gorge framed against an azure sky is one of the sights of the red centre of Australia that I long remember. The Gorge Walk follows the usually dry and sandy creek bed that has carved a passage through the surrounding rocks. The return journey then follows the cliff edges providing a different perspective on this harsh but beautiful landscape.
As with any outback trek, you need to be thoroughly prepared as the environment can be unforgiving - people have died in this location.
