Waa Gorge is a hidden gem located in Mount Kaputar National Park in the north of New South Wales. The impressive gorge was reminiscent of those found in central Australia, with soaring vertical cliffs that glowed red in the sun. I reached the gorge by scrambling alongside the creek at the end of the Mill-bullah walking track. This challenging trek was not marked and involved a number of creek crossings that were difficult in places. My perserverance was well rewarded with spectacular views of the gorge.
