★★★★★
The Grand High Tops walk in Warrumbungle National Park is regarded as one of the best walks in NSW. This walk takes you up close to and provides some stunning views of the park’s iconic volcanic rock formations. The walk can be extended, with a lot of side tracks that take you to some of the other remarkable features within the national park. This is just one of the many stunning walks within Warrumbungle National Park.
The main walk to the Breadknife and Grand High Tops has been extensively upgraded, with a paved path for most of its length, as well as well constructed stairs towards the peaks. My 74 year old dad did this section of the walk. The optional Gould's Circuit and return via the Spirey Peak Track is much rougher and suitable only for experienced hikers. There are picnic and camping areas throughout the national park. Camp Blackman where my dad and I stayed even had hot showers!
