The walk to Carey's Peak has been on my bucket list for a long time! For more than 30 years, I have wondered what the view was like from Careys Peak Lookout, having previously ascended from Lagoon Pinch with my family, only to find ourselves surrounded by clouds obscuring any view. Thankfully, on this occasion I had wonderful weather with clear skies and so finally got to marvel at the view. It was certainly worth the wait!
This time round, I took the easier option and hiked to Careys Peak from Junction Pool via Aeroplane Hill. This relatively flat walk is quite short, so I took a longer option to return via a different route. The clear blue skies on a cool October morning were a treat, making for a pleasant walk.
