On Australia Day 2021, my son and explored the bicycle paths around the Sydney Olympic Park. First up was the obligatory stop at the fantastic children's playground at Blaxland Riverside Park. Here my son had a marvellous time climbing the tower, sliding down the giant slides and swinging along the flying fox.
From the park we picked up the River Walk, a path that follows Parramatta River from Silverwater to Wentworth Point. From here it was a short ride across Bennelong Bridge to Rhodes, where unfortunately the path across Parramatta River was closed. A quick change of plans saw us ride along Homebush Bay to Sydney Olympic Park, where we followed the bicycle paths through the Badu Mangroves back to Wentworth Point.
It was a pleasant ride, since a breeze from the bay kept us cool for most of the morning.
