We came to Toomulla Beach for its free campground. The Toomulla Beach Tree Trail was an added bonus. This short walk heads from the campground to Saltwater Creek and Toomulla Beach, before looping back along the Esplanade. There are numerous information signs about the flora along the way (some 30 different species of plants) which gives the trail its name.

The campground had toilets, barbecues and picnic tables and was an ideal place to camp. Note that there are saltwater crocodiles in the area, so swimming is prohibited.
