Heading north to Cairns, my friends and I spent an interesting morning exploring the beautiful waterholes of the Paluma Range National Park.

We began with a visit to Paradise Waterhole, located a short walk from the Big Crystal Creek camping area. This large waterhole is a popular swimming spot and my friend was sorely tempted to have a swim!

Next was a short walk to the Rock Slides, located at the end of Spiegelhauer Road, approximately 2 km west of the Big Crystal Creek camping area. This small waterfall plunges into a large pool at its base.

Last was the 15 km drive south on Mount Spec Road to the beautiful bridge over Little Crystal Creek. This idyllic location also features a picnic area with tables and toilets.
