After a week of heavy rain, the weather cleared for a beautiful Saturday morning, and what better way to celebrate my birthday than a day out on the water, exploring a new stretch of the Georges River. This time I headed north from Henry Lawson Reserve in Georges Hall to Chipping Norton Lake, an artificial lake made from flooding former sand mines. From here I headed south west to the historic Liverpool Weir (1836), a convict built dam separating the brackish water from the fresh.
Heading back, I detoured to circle Lake Moore, before fighting the strong currents and waves caused by the strong wind to arrive back at Henry Lawson Reserve.
