Lake Becking Nature Walk
Murray-Sunset NP, VIC
1.8 km (0.5 hrs )
★★★☆☆
The Lake Becking Nature Walk is the shortest of the three walks that I did in the Pink Lakes area of Murray-Sunset National Park. Located in the north, just off Pioneer Drive, the walk begins at the campground, heading uphill via a set of stairs to the lookout over the lake. The walk then parallels the lake shoreline in the sandhill overlooking the lake, before looping back along the lake itself (bright white salt when I visited).
There are information signs along the walk describing the flora, fauna and history of salt mining in the area. Lake Becking campground was a great place to stay - a large grassed area at the base of the sandhills that surround the lake, with picnic tables and a toilet.
