Wreck Beach is located off the eastern end of the Great Ocean Road, approximately 27 km east of the Twelve Apostles. Access is via the gravel Moonlight Head Road. A short walk from the carpark leads to the cliff edge where 366 stairs provide access to the beach below. A short walk on the sand leads you to the remains of two shipwrecks - the Marie-Gabrielle, a large steel hulled French barque that was delivering a cargo of tea from China ran aground in 1869, and the 1,400 ton iron hulled ship Fiji that was shipwrecked in 1891 with the loss of 10 lives. The anchors of both ships can be readily seen on the rocks.
