The natural springs of the Daylesford area are Australia's largest concentration of mineral springs. Almost 40 of the springs are accessible to the public, spread amongst 19 different reserves. On this occasion I visited two of the springs - the Spargo Creek Mineral Springs and Deep Spring.

Spargo Creek Mineral Spring is set against a backdrop of native forest and pine plantations. A short walk takes you from the large grassed picnic area to the spring itself, a free-flowing pipe in a retaining wall. Spargo Creek Mineral Spring is located off Spargo Creek Road, approximately 2 km south west of the locality of Spargo Creek.

Deep Spring is located on Deep Creek Spring Road, approximately 8 km west of Daylesford. A short walk leads from the carpark down to the creek with a historic bridge and pump house built over the spring. This pump house dates back to the 1920s, when O.T. Limited, manufacturers of cordials extracted the mineral water from the spring.
