The Big River State Forest, located near the Yarra Ranges National Park in Victoria's high country is a remote location with a number of challenging 4WD tracks and a plethora of camping areas. I spent the night at Big River Camp, before tackling the 41 km 'shortcut' to the Mansfield-Woods Point Road. This took me 2.5 hours to drive, much of it in low range.

It was an interesting drive, but with lots of steep ascents and descents, including places where my vehicle bottomed out, I was quite happy when I finally exited onto a much easier road to drive!
