The Monolith is a large rock balanced on a granite rock outcrop overlooking Lake Catani in Victoria's Mount Buffalo National Park. The rock has been a tourist attraction since the 19th century, with a ladder that once allowed visitors to climb to the very top. While the ladder is now gone due to safety reasons, the views from the base of the monolith are still just as stunning.

The Monolith Track can be combined with the Lake Catani Track and the optional Underground River Track to form one long continuous loop. This walk takes you through the alpine mountain plateau, through forests of mountain ash and meadows near the lake, as well as a scramble through the granite boulders and gorge near the scenic Gorge.
