Empire Pass
Grade 4
Lawson, NSW
6.8 km (2.5 hrs )
★★★★☆
This historic walk was first opened in 1878 and showcases the beautiful waterfalls of the Lawson area in the Blue Mountains. Best visited after rain, I was fortunate to be here after a week of rain, making the waterfalls quite spectacular to see. While the entire walk through Empire Pass can be challenging, the much shorter loop visiting Fairy Falls, Dantes Glen and St Michaels Falls is definitely worth the effort. Dantes Glen was the highlight of the walk with the waterfall plunging down into a little enclosed canyon.
Parking is available at North Lawson Park but the nearest facilities are located in the village of Lawson (about 1 km).
