The stunning inselbergs (German for island mountain) known as Murphy's Haystacks are a number of rock formations that dominate the hillside near Mortana, on the western side of the Eyre Peninsula. The inselbergs are located on private property and entry was by small donation. A short gravel track loops through the rocks, which were particularly spectacular in the early morning sunrise when they glow red.
