Gawler Ranges National Park is located approximately 300 km west of Port Augusta in South Australia. The semi-arid park features a number of attractions, the most famous of which is the Organ Pipes. This is the name given to the volcanic rhyolite formations, which appear as red, hexagonal columns. The walk takes you through open eucalypt woodland to a narrow gorge, lined with the hexagonal columns. The gorge narrows towards the end of the walk and culminates in a natural amphitheatre.
The nearby Yandinga Campground is an ideal place to camp for the night and features a large level area with shady sites and a toilet. There is also a short walk to Yandinga Falls from the campground.
