Wilpena Pound is a spectacular natural amphitheatre of mountains within the Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park. The Hills Homestead Walk and Wangara Lookout Hike from the Wilpena Pound Resort is a great way to see and appreciate this beautiful place.

The track heads through Wilpena Gap and follows Wilpena Creek with its towering River Red Gums and native pines to the Hills Homestead. This stone house was built in the early 1900's, replacing the original shepherds hut. The lower lookout is 300 m on from Hills Homestead, while the upper lookout is a further 300 m up the sides of the hill. Both lookouts offer panoramic views of the inside of Wilpena Pound.
