Brushy Mountain Loop Walk
Werrikimbe NP, NSW
3.0 km (1 hr )
★★☆☆☆
Brushy Mountain in Werrikimbe National Park was the fourth campsite that my dad and I stayed in on our trip to Queensland. The campsite is located close to 1,100 m above sea level and is set amid a ribbon gum and blackbutt forest. Camping facilities were basic, but there was a covered picnic table and toilets where we camped.
The Brushy Mountain Loop Walk is a short walk that ascends to the edge of the escarpment, before looping back to the campground through an ancient Gondwana rainforest. The section through the cool and moist rainforest was my favourite, but the walk through the open eucalypt forest with hundreds of grass trees was also nice.
