With temperatures forecasted to be in the mid 30s, I thought it would be nice to escape the heat by heading out on the Georges River. This Saturday I explored the stretch of the river that I have not previously covered, from Georges Hall to East Hills.

Heading south from Garrison Point, the river is bordered on both sides by mangroves, with some occasional stretches of open spaces. There were only a few boats on the river, making for a nice paddle. I also detoured a short way to explore the shallow Williams Creek, before heading back.

It was a nice day out, especially since the current was in my favour.
