Horsetail Falls are located off the Lyell Highway, about 5 km from Queenstown in southern Tasmania. The walk heads gradually uphill on a well maintained track, with boardwalks over the steepest sections. The falls cascading from Mount Owen are quite high, splitting into multiple streams, reminiscent of a horse's tail.

The short walk to view the falls is one of Tasmania's 60 Great Short Walks - the best of Tasmania's day walks.
