★★★☆☆
Fitzroy Falls is a spectacular waterfall located halfway between Moss Vale and Kangaroo Valley in Morton National Park. The West Rim Track is the most popular track, providing stunning views of the falls and the Yarrunga Valley. The East Rim Track makes up for the lack of views of the waterfalls (although there are some lookouts), with an exploration of the native plants. Signs along the way identify some 30 species of trees, bushes and flowers, with vegetation ranging from the hardy plants of the sandstone plateau to the lush vegetation of the cool and moist rainforest gullies.
I spent a pleasant morning along this track, reaching the furthest lookout (Yarrunga Lookout). The Fitzroy Falls Visitor Centre has ticketed parking, a cafe, picnic areas and toilets. This can become very busy on weekends, although most visitors tend to only do the first part of the West Rim Track.
