Dry Canyon
Newnes Plateau, NSW

★★★★☆
Dry Canyon is the informal name for one of the small, but spectacular canyons in the Wollemi National Park. It is also one of the few canyons that does not contain water, making it easier to explore. Located off the very popular Glow Worm Tunnel Road on the Newnes Plateau, the unmarked track can be at times difficult to follow, especially finding the second and more spectacular canyon, and without my GPS it is very likely that I would have become lost after exiting the first canyon.
The walk to and through the canyons is not too difficult, although there are sections that may require a bit of scrambling. The canyons are quite well lit, so no torches were required, and they are very spectacular to see. This one is rated as one of my favourite walks in this area.
