Capertee National Park

★★☆☆☆
Capertee National Park is located within the Capertee Valley, described as the widest canyon in the world. Established in 2010, the park encloses the former farming property known as Port Macquarie. This former homestead is now available as accommodation within the National Park.
The National Park is located behind a locked gate, with an access code required from the National Park office (a phone number was provided on the gate). Port Macquarie Road is an accessible 2WD road to the homestead and campground, but the other roads within the National Park require a 4WD. There are two lookouts within the National Park, both of which I visited, a number of walking tracks and an extensive network of fire trails (4WD).
