Bob Turners Track
Grade 4
Colo Heights, NSW
7.2 km (3 hrs )
★★★☆☆
Bob Turners Track was originally a pack horse track constructed by George Townsend in 1883 as part of the survey for his railway to cross the Blue Mountains by going up the Colo River. The track was restored by Bob Turner in 1971 and named in his honour.
The track descends from Upper Colo, zig zagging its way down to the Colo River. The reward for the challenging walk is a wide stretch of white sand that forms a beach in the bend of the river, offering a great place to swim (which my friend did).
