★★★☆☆

The Waltzing Matilda Centre is dedicated to telling the story of one of Australia's most famous ballads and unofficial national anthem. The origins of the song begins close to Winton where it was first performed, and the centre traces its history throughout the century, with displays on not only the song, but also the author and the place it came from.

The museum has a dedicated section to the Waltzing Matilda song, the author and the area of Winton. Outside are displays of the role of the railway, the wool industry and early pastoral life in the region.

The centre has a cafe and toilets, and there is on street parking available outside. My friend and I spent a few interesting hours looking at the displays and thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
