Ferntree Gulley is one of those places that I discovered quite by accident while exploring the Bylong Valley Way a number of years ago. The turnoff to this magical place is about 17 km north of Rylstone, and features two walks, one of which I have done. I revisited this place with my brother and friends on the way back from Birdsville, QLD in January 2019.

The walk takes about an hour to complete and explores the narrow gulley, about 20 - 30 metres below the escarpment. The walk is not particularly difficult, although there are quite a number of stairs as you come back out of the gulley. Be sure to also visit the two lookouts on the way back to give a different perspective of the gulley.
