This hike is close to where I live and allows for quick access to some bush, without having to travel very far. My son and I did the Duck River track on our bicycles one Saturday morning.

Most of the track is a paved cycleway that follows the Duck River through Auburn, South Granville and Regents Park. The cycle way connects many parks and reserves, including the Auburn Botanical Gardens, a very nice Japanese and native themed garden. There is a small section of dirt track through the native bush between Wellington Road and Everley Road, but unfortunately, you are never too far from the hustle and bustle of suburbia.
