Federation Cliff Walk
Watsons Bay, NSW
7.4 km (2 hrs )
★★★☆☆
The Federation Cliff Walk was the second in a three part walk in eastern Sydney. This was my first time visiting this area and I was impressed with some of the spectacular coastal scenery, particularly the section around Diamond Bay.
I began the walk at the Gap, having completed the South Head walk earlier in the morning. Most of the walk follows reserves along the cliff tops, except for a few small sections in Dover Heights and North Bondi. Keep an eye out for some historical landmarks along the way, including Macquarie Lighthouse (site of Australia's oldest lighthouse) and the site of Australia's first foray into radio astronomy at Dover Heights, more information on which can be viewed here at CSIRO's website.
From here I continued south on the last part of the walk, the Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk.
