Lake Hardy Loop

★★★☆☆
Murray-Sunset National Park is the largest national park in Victoria. It is located 500 km from Melbourne in the north west of Victoria and covers and area of 6,330 km2. Much of the national park is remote and requires a 4WD to access, however, the Pink Lakes area, arguably the most famous attraction, is readily accessible by 2WD vehicles.
After spending the day exploring the remote northern section of Murray-Sunset National Park, I headed south to the Pink Lakes. There are four lakes in total, the first of which is Lake Hardy and the loop track around the lake. This short walk follows the lake's shoreline, and depending on the time of year that you visit, the lake can be full or empty, white (from the salt) or pink (from the algae that gives the lakes it's unique colour).
